SWEET DREAMS ARE MADE OF THIS… | SNAP! TSY IS ON DAVE STEWART’S CULTURAL RADAR

DAVE STEWART THE SELVEDGE YARD TSY

THE SELVEDGE YARD DAVE STEWART GUARDIAN OBSERVER

I stumbled across this write-up on Dave Stewart in The Guardian’s Observer quite by accident this weekend, and my jaw hit the floor with a thud! Right away I thought back to an odd time about 2 or so years ago when a very nice young man contacted me “on behalf of Mr. Dave Stewart”, wanting to know if I’d like to contribute a Blues piece for a magazine that he was producing. I said, “Fuck. Absolutely.” But as these things often do, it didn’t end up happening, and part of me thought…Dave Stewart? Nah. There must have been a mix-up. Surely not me he was looking for me. This made my day. Dave, please reach out anytime: info@selvedgeyard.com It’s a one-man show over here, but I’ll surely take your call!

Cheers, JP

On my radar: Dave Stewart’s cultural highlights

Here’s the TSY post that spawned Dave’s interest a couple years back:

    • No, that’s not what TSY is about. It’s been 4 yrs, I’ve had offers to buy the site, have a bunch of content clones on staff, and just make money. I’d rather burn it down to the ground than have a paywall or otherwise milk the community that supports TSY.

  1. GOOD ON YOU JP!! Not only one of the best blogs on the net it’s run by a real, decent, honourable bloke. There’s not too many of us left pal! 🙂

    Keep up the brilliant work!

    Love from Oz (Downunder)

  2. I filmed many a music documentary series – on featuring Dave Stewart recording in LA. He was real busy but gave me an embarrassing amount of his time and here’s the thing – he made me and the crew breakfast..not surprised he took time to comment on your site as it awesomely good!
I’m producing my first feature film and when I’m in full flow I’d love you to suggest a great stills person to document everything for a book?
    Keep it real
    P

  3. That’s brilliant, you deserve the mention JP! I’ve been subscribed to you blog for a good while now and I always find the wide range of articles very interesting.

  4. Well JP … I may not always agree with you …. sometimes even pretty severely criticize you … but I’ve never since finding your site stopped appreciating and enjoying what you have on offer … even on the rare occasions when I don’t like it . So …. Rock On – Drive [Ride] On – Remain Calm – ( and do sir please ) Carry On

FYI ; For future reference .. when it comes to business or any verbal agreement never depend on one of us ( musicians and those in the business ) till the contracts signed – the inks dry – check is in hand – and its cleared the bank . Least thats the advice I’ve given anyone I’ve consulted for when it comes to dealing with the likes of us ( music types )
