I had the pleasure of finally meeting Neale Bayly a couple weeks ago in Brooklyn through mutual friends and got to hear firsthand about his very cool new show Neale Bayly Rides (that he’s been busting his ass on for quite some time…), and now all Neale’s blood, sweat, and tears is about to finally payoff when the show debuts on Fox Sports’ Speed Network on June 9th, 9PM EST.
This isn’t just a show about tearing across the planet on a BMW– which would be cool enough for me to watch all day long. Neale has a real humanitarian heart, and the causes he believes in are truly the end game for him. The tagline for the show sums it up well– Adventure. Travel. Adrenaline, Storytelling. All on motorcycles. (BMW’s, at that.)

Veteran motorcycle journalist, and RoadRUNNER contributor, Neale Bayly was adventuring through Peru when he arrived at the Hogar Belen orphanage. The abandoned children he met there turned his motorcycle adventure into a humanitarian cause. Upon returning to the U.S. he founded Wellspring International Outreach, a non-profit organization focused on coming to the aid of orphans around the world. In order to help raise awareness for Wellspring’s work, Neale has teamed up with Linda Midgett, an Emmy award winning producer, to create a three-part TV series. The show, called Neale Bayly Rides Peru, follows Neale and a diverse cast that includes a doctor, a pastor, an IT consultant, a chef, and a riding instructor from the BMW performance center as they first prepare for and then ride Peru. The Selvedge Yard 
I’m looking forward to it …. got the DVR set and ready to roll ….. but I’m wondering …. with SPEED having announced back in January that it was suspending broadcast as of August … will this be an all too short series with no hope for continuation ?
I met this chap in a basement saki bar in the East Village a couple of years back. Both of us were in the process of achieving shit-faced-ness.
I like the idea, but it seems full of the regular reality show BS created drama.
Never have I looked so forward to a M/C show ….. and never have I been so utterly disappointed . Horrid production – Abysmal cinematography – Pitiful choice of participants etc . In light of my respect for NB I’ll lay the blame on SPEED’s ever diminishing budget as they prepare to shut down . Suffice it to say I won’t be watching the remaining episodes

Yes, it IS pretty bad. The whole concept doesn’t really work from the start, and the chosen participants are incorrect. Rank beginners chosen to do a Dakar-like extreme hard core riding adventure? You just know they’re going to be injured, the warnings were there in the pre-training and crashing, and sure enough the woman doctor wounds herself almost immediately. You think she would know better. Bayley’s heart is in the right place, but sadly this is just wrong on many levels.
