  6. Well, this is the only blog (of any type) that I read, so that was a pretty easy choice. I did check out your competition while I was there – lets just say this is still the only blog I read. You’ve created a great blend of pop-culture here and you deserve to be recognized for it.

  9. got my vote but a fashion blog? seems more like an inspirational uplifting almost holy take on things from the past that should be cherished and not forgotten blog.

    Yeah, we definitely mix things up here and cover all the things we love– it keeps our interest, and hopefully everyone else’s. I can totally see where you’re coming from with that comment though.

    We’re into the historical aspect, especially when it comes to fashion. To understand and appreciate where we are, we have to know where we came from, IMHO. Below are just a few of the “fashion” posts we’ve featured here on TSY.

    Some posts are very direct in there commentary on fashion and style. Other times I’m hugely inspired by images, subjects, and stories in a way that’s very personal– kind of like when you look at a painting or hear a song, and it means one thing to you, and can also make someone else react and feel something completely different. In those times, I prefer to let the images and the story speak largely for themselves, and let everyone get there naturally without saying stuff like– “dude, look at that bitchin’ poncho.” I’m not a big fan of stating the obvious, I like the experience that comes with people unpacking things on their own terms, in their own time, with their own perspective.

    I’ve been in the clothing / fashion / branding biz my entire life, so has Eli, so I naturally see that thread running through everything we do on here on TSY. Sometimes it’s center stage, sometimes it’s the backdrop, but it’s always there– in my mind at least.
