I stumbled across some pics taken for the 1972 Spring fashion shoot, which to me are very cool and perfectly capture the timelessness of Ralph Lauren. I love the little old-school, typed write-up as well.
Thanks to the gent at Styleforum for the post (back in 2007).
Too cool. I can’t believe a find like this exists. I thought I had seen everything Ralph Lauren ever published. The low light image of the two tennis players is authentically intimate and well produced. The male model looks to be the same model in that famous ad of the cowboy walking the horse in snow with Ralph Lauren’s actual hat on. Anyway, thanks for the great images.
I was very stoked to find them. I’m a nerd like that.
amazing rrl anthropology…
marvelous find!
JP,
Wow–lovely shots. The second one reminds me of Annie Hall, but about 8 years earlier, I suppose. Don’t know if you’d be interested, but I have some shots posted a while back on the Ask Andy forum from RL’s 1977 campaign (not sure if they’re catalog or magazine ads). I posted them a bit ago on my blog but didn’t want to throw the link up here without your permission. Let me know if it’s ok.
Marcellus-
Please send them on!
Thanks–
JP
